Happy Easter dearest readers!!!!! How did everyone’s Easter go? Mine was particularly swell, full of delicious food and the usual family gossip. In the spirit of today’s holiday, today’s obsession is Anthropologie’s Sewing Basket Apron. How absolutely ADORABLE is this? I’m obsessed with this apron for many reasons. First off, I’m not a natural Suzy Homemaker, but this apron absolutely inspires me to be one!!! With an apron this cute, it’s hard to imagine what you can’t whip up in the kitchen (emulate a little Betty Draper, perhaps?). I absolutely love the color palette (cream, dusty yellow, green, blues) – it definitely makes it a required springtime/summertime kitchen accessory. Second, the description indicated that this apron has pockets. POCKETS!!!!!!!!!!! OMG. I should have ranked this as the top reason to be obsessed. I normally love dresses with pockets (I love the idea of being able to slip something in a pocket if I need it), so how much more functional can you get for an apron with pockets. It’s fantastic. Third, I love how this apron is machine washable. At the end of the day, aprons are designed to get dirty to protect your beautiful dress underneath, and I’ve seen fancy aprons (that either of the pretty material they are made of, or the trims that go on the apron) that have to be hand-washed. I like the idea that after a day’s labor in the kitchen and dinner is ready to be served, I can take off the apron, throw it in the wash and not think about it twice. Last, and certainly not least, I am soooo loving the rick-rack trim!!! The last time I saw one of those was on my Royal Academy of Dance ballet test skirts (they would be black with just several rick-rack trims) Such a fun, flirty apron ready for years of Easter lunches to come…
