obsession name: Gucci Black Guccissima Leather Briefcase
why the obsession:
As part of my actual day job, I am asked to travel from time to time for work. One of the things I often struggle with is how to avoid airport hassle, with flight delays, long lines and very early/very late travel times. With airlines’ policy of only 2 checked items at all times, I often ditch the purse to meet the 2-item requirement and just carry my laptop bag and my suitcase. Now the reality is, my laptop bag is your ordinary laptop bag – practical, comfortable, and not-really-super-stylish. Therefore, in scouring the internets for my next post, I developed an instant obsession with this Gucci Black Guccissima Leather Briefcase – TOTALLY a dream work/travel bag. First off, can we talk about the black Guccissima leather? It’s soft, supple, and the quality is just superb. I particularly like this leather in black: a) it’s classy, b) I can style it with anything I wear to work, c) it looks professional, d) although it’s a logo bag, because it’s in black, it’s very subtle and not-in-your-face-designer since the logos are embossed in the leather itself. I also very much like the idea of black leather for traveling because you need something durable in today’s travel world. This bag is also a perfect size at 16” x 2.4” x 12.2”, because it’s just the right size for my 15” work laptop, but it’s also compact enough where I won’t be tempted to pack more stuff so I keep my always-travel-light policy. The only other thing I will mention with this bag is that you do have to buy the shoulder strap separately (which is a must for me). I suppose it works out that if you don’t need the shoulder strap, then you don’t have to pay for it, so how thoughtful of Gucci. In the end, I would totally love to own this briefcase one day – it’s classy, professional, practical, comfortable, last forever, and will finally bring me some style to “haggard-dous” travel days.
Guccissima leather facts:
In writing this post, I was curious to find out what I could about Guccissima Leather. What is discovered is that “Guccissima” in Italian translates to “very Gucci”, or when something is so very much of something (think “bellissima”!!) What I thought was pretty interesting is that it’s referred to as such because of the embossed logos connected to each other and something that is recognizable and unique only to Gucci. So, how “Guccissima!!”
