obsession name: Miu Miu Check Bow-Detail Slingback Pump, in Fuchsia
where to buy: Neiman Marcus stores, or neimanmarcus.com
why the obsession:
I don’t think I’ve discussed this in my blog yet, but recently I have been on the hunt for fuchsia/pink heels. I’m not entirely sure why I feel a need to have fuchsia heels, but I feel like spring and summertime always inspires me to be girlier, much more than usual. And realistically, I don’t really see myself sporting anything fuchsia-colored on my feet come fall and wintertime, so heck, that could explain this whole thing entirely. On the other hand, I have also been eyeing check-patterned/gingham clothing items on ASOS recently, and also, I’m not entirely sure why. Maybe the idea of check-patterns and gingham invokes images of outside picnics and fresh lemonade, hence, an overall feel of summer as well. (And interestingly enough, I also don’t foresee myself wearing anything check-patterned or gingham in fall and winter as well). And then I see this pair of Miu Miu Check Bow-Detail Slingback Pumps in Fuchsia, and all of a sudden, my world of fuchsia-check-pattern-hunting makes sense again. I am utterly obsessed with this shoe.
I’m obsessed for many reasons. First off, this shoe is a guaranteed “OMG-where-did-you-get-that-shoe” invoking reaction from women all over - friend, stranger, foe, anybody in general. It’s just so darn cute. It’s supremely irresistible and TOTALLY eye-catching. Some shoes just have that effect – they draw you to them, and require that you wear something minimalistic for the rest of your outfit, lest you dare draw attention away from the shoe. There’s also something very southern-belle-esque about this shoe, which I totally love, with the big bow detail on the back and the prim, proper, pointy toe of the shoe. Of course, as I mentioned earlier, the fuchsia and the check pattern makes this completely appropriate to wear to summer soirees. However, I think what I am loving most about this shoe is that it’s a pair I could see Carrie Bradshaw sporting on Sex and the City – a nice little reminder of her fun, bubbly, risk-taking style, reminding us all not to take fashion TOO seriously, and just have fun with it!!!!
what would I wear it with:
I would wear this with a simple black, white, or navy dress. I probably wouldn’t wear it with jeans, I think you need either a skirt or a dress to wear with it. A cute white pleated skirt perhaps?
twin obsession:
This shoe in other colors, like the blue and the green are equally stunning options!!!!
