why the obsession:
How was the long weekend for everyone? Mine flew by so quickly, hanging out with family, friends and the like. It was nice to have the first non-weekend actual holiday since Christmas/New Year’s, allowing folks a chance to hang out with those near and dear for a long extended weekend. Ahhh, so nice. I spent Sunday on a lovely brunch at the Thai Temple with my mom, aunts and cousin, which turned into an impromptu shopping trip, and, “coincidentally” a trip to J. Crew. It was right then that I spotted this lovely orange double-strand seahorse necklace, a reminder that summer is right around the corner… and how you always find the CUTEST things when you’re trying not to spend money (why is that????)
This necklace was so eye-catching on the mannequin against a white eyelet dress at which point I tried to find a salesperson to help me find where this necklace was located in the store. I love all things quirky and whimsical, and the seahorse jewel fit the bill. Seahorse jewelry (at least, from what I’ve seen) is not fairly common, as it might be with owls or dolphin jewelry. The tangerine orange double-strands are the perfect color complement, as it is not only the color of the year, but it definitely adds the right amount of pep without being gaudy. Chalk it up to the list of items I will be stalking to go on sale…
what would I wear it with:
The J. Crew mannequin sold me on this necklace with a white eyelet dress so that is my top pick. Or a white shirt with white shorts. Anything white, really!!!! This is that pop of color that is perfect to add to any white outfit. And who doesn’t like wearing white during Florida summertime??? Hmmm????
